Esta investigação teve como objetivo principal perceber a importância da presença online para lares de idosos privados em Setúbal.
Para tal, foram utilizados métodos qualitativos e quantitativos de investigação. No primeiro utilizou-se o inquérito por entrevista semi-estruturada a Diretores de lares de idosos. No método quantitativo usou-se o inquérito por questionário estruturado, obtendo-se 165 questionários sobre a perspetiva de familiares e amigos de utentes residentes nesses estabelecimentos.
Os resultados obtidos através da análise qualitativa permitiram concluir que os Diretores têm consciência da importância de estarem presentes na internet, mas não consideram ser uma prioridade possuir um website próprio. Quanto à análise quantitativa, concluiu-se que o grupo familiar é quem mais influencia a decisão de escolha de um lar e que o nome, reputação, preços, serviços e qualidade são os fatores mais relevantes quando os inquiridos pesquisam informações online, nomeadamente em websites próprios dos lares.

In the quantitative method, the structured questionnaire survey was used, obtaining 165 validated questionnaires from perspectives of family members and friends of people living in these establishments. The obtained results through the qualitative analysis allowed us to conclude that the Directors are aware of the importance of being present on the internet, but don’t consider it a priority to have their own website. Regarding the quantitative analysis, it was concluded that the family group is the one that most influences the choice decision a nursing home and that the name, reputation, prices, services and quality are the most relevant factors when respondents search for information online, namely on own nursing home websites.
