Abstract(s)
constrangimentos sentidos e as aprendizagens realizadas.
Durante a realização do presente
This Research Project Report arises as part of the Master's Degree in Preschool Education. Its theme is “The importance of organizing space and materials in early childhood education” and the research question is “How can educators optimize and organize the educational environment with educational intentionality in the context of early childhood education?”. To answer the research question, proposals carried out in two internship contexts, nursery and kindergarten were described, analysed and interpreted. This research falls within the qualitative approach methodology, more precisely, the action research methodology. Therefore, to conduct this research, various information collection techniques characteristic of the action research methodology was used, namely: action observation; field notes; multimedia records, photographs and videos; research and documentary analysis; and semi-structured interviews with cooperating educators and children in the kindergarten context. All the above-mentioned techniques were fundamental for interpreting the proposals made and the experiences lived during the internship, as well as for answering the research question. The proposals implemented during the internship are described and subsequently evaluated, where I reflect on their effectiveness, discuss the planning intentions, highlight the strengths, challenges, and limitations, and share the insights gained. The description and subsequent evaluation of the interventions enabled me to reflect on the topic, consolidate my knowledge, and address the research question. Through the observations and reflections made throughout this investigative journey, I came to understand the significance of organizing space and materials in children's development and learning. the writing of this thesis, allowed me to conclude that the arrangement of space and materials mirrors the educators' intentions and beliefs. Therefore, it is crucial for educators to reflect on and adjust these elements based on the children's needs and interests, involving them in the process.
