Abstract(s)
This dissertation explores the relationship between green innovation and the size and turnover of Portuguese companies, using data from the Community Innovation Survey (CIS) from 2018 to 2020. Green innovation can be defined as any initiative capable of reducing the use of natural resources and minimizing the emission of harmful substances into the environment. This study investigates how companies can adopt sustainable processes and products to ensure stable economic performance while contributing to environmental preservation, aiming to correlate these practices with company size and turnover. The research employed a quantitative methodology, using a sample of Portuguese companies with 10 or more employees. Two main hypotheses were formulated for this purpose: the first assesses the positive relationship between green innovation and company size, while the second examines the correlation between green innovation and turnover. The study analyzed 13,509 companies, classified according to sector and size, and applied various statistical techniques - including non-parametric hypothesis testing and Spearman's correlation coefficient - to validate the proposed hypotheses
