Abstract(s)
The purpose of this report is to show the results of the current investigation during the curricular internship at an Elementary School. The main goal is to understand what it is the contribution of participatory pedagogy to the experience of democratic issues. During the pedagogical practice, it was promoted, in different ways, a democratic environment, where the child/student is the central and active character in his/her own learning process. Methodologically, it has a qualitative nature and is based on methodological research on practice. Data collection was done through participant observation, observations in the field, photographic and audio records, document analysis and interview with children. The analysis of data obtained generally reveals that participatory pedagogy is a promoter of democratic experiences and skills. If we are looking to preserve and maintain a democratic society, then school must be a place for the acquisition and development of citizens’ skills and attitudes, that enables dialogue, cooperation and that leads to the achievement of common goals.
