RESUMO
O desenvolvimento da sociedade contemporânea tem vindo a trazer consequências a nível de
alterações dos recursos hidrológicos como a contaminação das águas subterrâneas e a
necessidade de definição de métodos de protecção dos recursos hídricos. Proteger, então de
forma preventiva, as águas subterrâneas, abrange a delimitação dos perímetros de protecção.
Pretende-se com a delimitação de perímetros de protecção reduzir o risco de contaminação
das águas subterrâneas e em caso de ocorrer um foco de poluição, que a água chegue, às
captações com concentrações razoáveis e/ou que se consiga tomar medidas de correcção
atempadamente.
No presente trabalho apresenta-se o caso de estudo da delimitação dos perímetros de
protecção das captações de água subterrânea para abastecimento público do concelho de
Arganil que se encontram sob gestão do Munícipio de Arganil, utilizando o método do raio fixo
calculado anunciado no Decreto-Lei Nº 382/99 de 22 de setembro. Também é feita uma
síntese do funcionamento de uma Estação de Tratamento de Água (ETA), nomeadamente a
ETA do Feijoal, localizada no Sarzedo, em que os processos de tratamentos são os mais
complexos e em que a água apresenta maior necessidade de ser tratada no concelho de
Arganil.

ABSTRACT The development of the contemporary society has brought consequences at the level of hydrological resources, in the groundwater contamination and the necessity of a definition of methods of protection of the hydric resources. Protection in a preventive way the groundwater waters, in a range of delimitation of protection perimeters. With the delimitation of protection perimeters it is pretended to reduce the contamination of the groundwater waters and in case of a outbreak when polluted that this same water will be able to reach the capitations with reasonable concentrations and will be able also to take correction measures in time. The present work presents the study case of the delimitation of protection perimeters of the groundwater waters captions to the public supply of Arganil that is under the management of Município de Arganil, using the method of fixed radius calculated announced in the Decreto- Lei Nº 382/99 de 22 de setembro. It is also made a synthesis of the functioning of a ETA (“Estação de Tratamento de Água”), in this case the ETA of Feijoal located in Sarzedo, where the processes of treatment are the most complex and in where the water presents a greater necessity of being treated in Arganil.
