Abstract(s)
This Internship Report is part of the Master's Degree in Community Nursing in the Area of Family Health Nursing, at the Lisbon School of Nursing. It aims to document the learning developed throughout the training path, using a descriptive, analytical, critical and reflective methodology, as well as to describe in a systematic way the activities leading to the acquisition of the Common and Specific Competencies of the Specialist Nurse in Community Nursing in the area of Family Health Nursing (EEECESF). The activities developed in the context of the internship took place in three distinct moments, the first moment, in a Personalized Health Care Unit (UCSP), the second and third in a Family Health Unit (USF). The Curricular Unit (UC) Internship took place in a UCPS, between May 8th and June 2th, 2023 and in a USF, from June 5th to July 14, 2023. In the third semester, the UC Internship with Report took place at the same USF, between September 25, 2023 and February 9, 2024. In order to respond to the objectives outlined in the guiding guide of the Curricular Units related to Internships, in the context of an internship at UCSP, a case study was carried out, based on a family system experiencing complex situations. To this end, I mobilized the Calgary Model of Evaluation and Family Intervention (MCAIF), anchoring the case study in Afaf Meleis' Theory of Transitions. With the purpose of obtaining gains in family health, the learning process within the scope of the Internship at the USF enabled the development of an intervention project, for which I resorted to the methodology of the Nursing Process. Entitled "Nurse intervention in families in the prevention of domestic accidents in families with children in the second year of life", its general objective was to train families with children in the second year of life for the prevention of domestic accidents. Based on Betty Neuman's Systems Model, it allowed the planning and execution of actions as a contribution to the reduction of potential risk factors for the occurrence of domestic accidents in a family environment.
