Abstract(s)
O interesse crescente pela Semiótica aplicada ao campo da Educação motivou o desenvolvimento desta investigação sobre a utilização de signos, como ferramenta do Design, em atividades pedagógicas na sala de aula. O projecto foi desenvolvido com alunos de duas turmas selecionadas do Ensino Básico.
Desenvolveram-se instrumentos de pesquisa que visavam promover mecanismos de associação com repercussões de ordem cognitiva, afetiva e criativa na área da Escrita, área onde se verificam dificuldades que novas estratégias poderão colmatar.
Verificou-se se nas composições realizadas após a aplicação dos instrumentos de pesquisa houve associações imputáveis à influência da visualização das imagens dos ícones e se tais alterações contribuíram para enriquecer a escrita dos alunos.
Os resultados permitiram concluir que houve melhorias imputáveis ao efeito dos instrumentos de pesquisa, o que indicia que o recurso a elementos semióticos desenvolvidos em função de temas selecionados é uma estratégia de ensino a considerar na área da Escrita.
The growing interest in the application of Semiotics in the field of Education motivated the development of this study about the use of icons as a Design tool in classroom activities. The project was carried out in two classrooms of primary school students. Research tools were developed with the aim of promoting association mechanisms that could lead to cognitive, affective and creative effects on writing quality, an area where difficulties have been identified, which new strategies might be able to address. Written compositions were analysed after the application of the research tools to check if there were associations that could be attributed to the influence of visualizing the images on the icons and if those associations contributed to the enrichment of the text writing quality. The results lead to the conclusion that there were positive improvements derived from the influence of the research tools, which indicates that the use of semiotic elements developed for selected themes, is a learning strategy worth considering in the area of writing.
