A Liderança e o Comportamento de Cidadania Organizacional
são temas que durante décadas têm vindo a ser estudados, em
parte pela sua relevância para explicar o desempenho dos
colaboradores nas organizações. Apesar dos inúmeros estudos,
existem novas formas de liderança, como é o caso da liderança
adaptativa, que ainda não foram muito estudadas.
Este estudo pretende analisar a influência da liderança
adaptativa no desempenho e investigar em que medida os
comportamentos de cidadania organizacional são mediad ores
desta relação. Neste estudo participaram 80 indivíduos que se
encontram a trabalhar em Portugal e que responderam a um
questionário online desenvolvido especificamente para o efeito.
Os resultados revelaram que apenas uma dimensão da
Liderança Adaptat iva, ou seja, a dimensão de “Envolver a
equipa na solução”, apresenta se diretamente relacionada com
a performance. Os resultados revelaram ainda que as três
dimensões analisadas de comportamentos de cidadania
organizacional medeiam totalmente esta relação . Os resultados
são discutidos e integrados com a literatura existente na área.
No final do trabalho são discutidas as limitações do estudo e
possíveis recomendações para o futuro.
Leadership and Organizational Citizenship Behavior are topics that have been studied for decades, partly due to their relevance in explaining the performance of employees in organizations. Despite countless studies, there are new forms of leadership, such as adaptive leadership, which have not yet been studied th at much. This study aims to analyze the influence of adaptive leadership on performance and investigate the extent to which organizational citizenship behaviors mediate this relationship. In this study, 80 individuals who are working in Portugal participated and re sponded to an online questionnaire developed specifically for this purpose. The results revealed that only one dimension of Adaptive Leadership, that is, the dimension of “Involving the team in the solution”, is directly related to performance. The results also revealed that the three analyzed dimensions of organizational citizenship behaviors fully mediate this relationship. The results are discussed and integrated with existing literature in the area. At the end of the work, the limitations of the study a nd possible recommendations for the future are discussed.
