Abstract(s)
This work addresses expense management and revenue opportunities at airports, analyzing the efficiency of 22 airports around the world. The Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method was used to evaluate the relative efficiency of airports before and after the COVID 19 period, in which we obtained a ranking, target indicators to be achieved to ensure better efficiency and a SWOT analysis of the airports taken as a reference base. 2 working hypotheses were validated. The objective of this study was to identify areas for improvement in financial management and explore new sources of revenue, especially in a post-pandemic context. In the end, it was concluded that revenue diversification such as leasing space at the airport for commerce and cost optimization such as implementing process automation to reduce labor are strategies that can be implemented to increase efficiency in an infrastructure. airport. Although there are studies on individual aspects of airport management, there is a gap in the integrated understanding of how expense management and revenue generation contribute to economic sustainability. This study aims to help fill this gap by offering practical insights for airport managers and theoretical contributions for academics and researchers
