Energy consumption is fundamental to modern society, underpinning a wide range of human activities. However, it is a major driver of greenhouse gas emissions, which exacerbate climate change. The industrial sector, responsible for a substantial share of global energy use, faces the dual challenge of improving energy efficiency and transitioning to renewable energy sources. This study focuses on evaluating electricity consumption in the processing and production of tomato concentrate. To achieve this, the Material Flow and Energy Analysis (MFEA) methodology is employed. Furthermore, the study examines the impact of installing photovoltaic panels on the south-facing roof of the facility, specifically regarding their potential to reduce end product electricity specific consumption. The findings demonstrate that photovoltaic panel installation significantly lowers specific electricity consumption. However, the financial feasibility of this solution hinges on the ability to sell surplus energy generated during periods when tomato concentrate production is inactive.
