Abstract(s)
A contrafação representa não só um dos maiores desafios à economia
mundial, como constitui também um perigo para a saúde pública e para a
segurança dos seus consumidores. Esta atividade é mais uma das que ao longo
dos últimos anos se tem tornado cada vez mais transnacional e difundida pelo
mundo inteiro, sendo que é, atualmente, mais fácil adquirir produtos contrafeitos,
produzidos em qualquer país. As Novas Tecnologias de Informação e
Comunicação, como as redes sociais, e principalmente toda a internet com as
suas infinitas possibilidades, são as principais impulsionadores deste avanço na
contrafação a nível mundial, sendo que Portugal não é exceção. Assim sendo,
decidiu-se aqui apresentar qual o papel das Novas Tecnologias de Informação e
Comunicação no fenómeno da contrafação, em Portugal. Principalmente de que
forma estas alteraram a prática desta atividade ilícita e como se adaptaram os
inspetores a esta nova realidade, sendo estes os pontos fulcrais tratados. A
metodologia utilizada consistiu numa observação direta, efetuada na UNIIC da
ASAE, complementada com duas entrevistas semiestruturadas, ao Inspetor
Diretor e ao Inspetor Chefe da Unidade, tendo sido assim possível recolher mais
informação pertinente para a presente dissertação.
Counterfeiting is not only one of the biggest challenges to the world economy, it is also a danger to public health and the safety of its consumers. This activity is another one that over the last few years has become increasingly transnational and widespread throughout the world, and it is now easier to buy counterfeit products, produced in any country. New Information and Communication Technologies, such as social networks, and especially the whole internet with its infinite possibilities, are the main drivers of this advance in counterfeiting worldwide, and Portugal is no exception. Therefore, it was decided to present here, the role of the New Information and Communication Technologies in the counterfeiting phenomenon in Portugal. Especially how these have changed the practice of this illicit activity and how the inspectors have adapted to this new reality, these being the central points dealt with. The methodology used consisted of a direct observation, carried out at the UNIIC of ASAE, complemented with two semi-structed interviews, to the Director Inspector and to the Head Inspector of the Unit, thus making it possible to collect more information relevant to this dissertation.
