Abstract(s)
The rapid and global expansion of the internet, smartphones, and mobile devices in general, combined with demographic factors such as the large rate of young population in Mozambique, has made electronic commerce increasingly evident and widespread. In this context, we will seek to analyze the main socioeconomic and cultural challenges that may affect the purchase option and the adoption of e-commerce in Mozambique, despite its slow technological development. For this analysis, we defined the comparison between Portugal and Mozambique regarding adoption of e-commerce and carried out in-depth interviews using a qualitative methodology, as a data collection procedure in both countries to assess the level of consumer acceptance in relation to this type of commerce. Finally, according to the data analysis and results collected, we propose suggestions to improve the Mozambican digital consumer experience.
