Abstract(s)
O tema desta investigação incide sobre a Batalha deMogadíscio. O objectivo que o trabalho se propõe atingir é apresentar uma modalidade de acção alternativa que na perspectiva do autor conseguiria atingir os objectivos da operação em estudo, bem como colmatar erros que possam ter existido.
A forma como o tema é abordado, visa apresentar osacontecimentos históricos que conduziram à batalha, uma narração da forma como a batalha ocorreu e a apresentação de uma modalidade de acção alternativa. Esta modalidade de acção tem por objectivo mostrar uma outra forma como as forças podiam ter sido empregues evitando os erros que foram cometidos no dia 3 de Outubro de 1993.
A pesquisa bibliográfica realizada permitiu constatar, a importância do correcto dimensionamento das forças à missão que lhes é atribuída, assim como a constatação da necessidade de existir uma cadeia de comando que garanta o comando centralizado das operações. A elaboração de uma modalidade de acção alternativa, não só permite que se retirem lições do estudo da operação executada, como ao mesmo tempo apresenta uma possível solução táctica para a batalha de Mogadíscio. O espírito desta investigação foi desde o inicio abordar os acontecimentos numa perspectiva pedagógica com a intenção de aprender enão com o propósito de apenas enumerar erros ou de julgar os comandantes que duranteo combate tiveram que tomar decisões.
Abstract The subject of this research relays in the Battle of Mogadishu. The main goal of this paper is to present an alternative course of actionthat in the perspective of the author could achieve the objective of the operation in study andbridge the mistakes that could have had occur. The way the subject is address aims to present the historical facts that led to the bathe, the description of the battle itself and thepresentation of the alternative course of action. This last part has the objective to show who the forces might had been used preventing some mistake that could have been made in the 3rd October 1993. The biographical research aloud the author to realize the importance of the right size of the force to the mission that the force given, as well has the importance of a chain of command that is able to maintain a centralize command. The alternative course of action not only allows learning from the study of the battle has well presents a possible tactical solution to the Bathe of Mogadishu. Since the beginning of this research, there was always an intent to learn and never with the purpose of pointing mistakes our judge thecommandants that had to decide during the combat.
