O Curso de Precursores Aeroterrestres: Fatores Motivacionais para o Voluntariado

Abstract(s)
A Companhia de Precursores Aeroterrestres enfrenta, na atualidade, uma enorme dificuldade em combater o défice de pessoal, similarmente às Unidades Paraquedistas, Brigada de Reação Rápida, ou mesmo ao Exército em geral. Identificar os fatores motivacionais que atraem os voluntários, de forma a incrementar as inscrições nos cursos será um passo fulcral para a sobrevivência da Companhia de Precursores Aeroterrestres em particular, e globalmente para a sobrevivência da Instituição Castrense.
A presente investigação trata pois de identificar e analisar os fatores motivacionais que balanceiam o voluntariado no sentido de concorrer ao Curso de (Auxiliar) Precursor Aeroterrestre.
Este estudo pretende ser a base para futuras investigações no sentido de desenvolver medidas concretas para dar uma maior visibilidade aos aspetos que mais cativam os militares e por outro lado corrigir os aspetos que mais afetam o interesse dos mesmos. São pois duas as vertentes de desenvolvimento do presente trabalho: em primeiro lugar analisar os fatores motivacionais mais importantes para os militares de forma a aprimorar os aspetos atrativos e eliminar os aspetos negativos; e por outro lado, aplicar o presente estudo a realidades mais abrangentes, nas diferentes unidades paraquedistas, nas unidades de tropas especiais, Comandos e Operações Especiais, ou mesmo na Brigada de Reação Rápida como um todo.
Este estudo encetou primeiramente por uma fase teórica, de pesquisa bibliográfica e análise documental, complementada por entrevistas exploratórias aplicadas a diferentes especialistas na matéria, de forma a identificar claramente quais os fatores motivacionais mais pertinentes para esta realidade particular que são os Precursores Aeroterrestres.
Subsequentemente, tendo então as bases teóricas que permitem partir para o trabalho de campo, a investigação passou pela conceção de um inquérito sob a forma de questionário e sua aplicação a uma amostra representativa, englobando militares da Brigada de Reação Rápida, em condições de concorrer ao Curso de (Auxiliar) Precursor Aeroterrestre e ainda por militares em formação, das categorias de oficiais, sargentos e praças do Exército Português, todos eles nas mesmas condições.
Entre os resultados mais significativos destaque para a grande similitude de perceções entre as três categorias da hierarquia militar, no que concerne aos diferentes fatores motivacionais. Tal facto não se verifica quando se constituem as subamostras tendo por base as diferentes unidades de colocação dos militares paraquedistas e dos militares em formação. Neste caso concreto, averiguam-se diferenças significativas entre as perceções dos militares da Escola de Tropas Paraquedistas e dos militares das demais unidades.
Entre as principais conclusões de notar o cumprimento por parte da Companhia de Precursores Aeroterrestres ao nível dos fatores motivacionais em geral, salientando-se o
desejo de responsabilidade por parte dos militares o qual é correspondido em 80,7%, fruto, sobretudo, da natureza das missões a si incumbidas. De entre os fatores extrínsecos destacam-se as condições de trabalho satisfeitas em 74,4%, resultando sobretudo da boa perceção dos militares face ao material, equipamento e armamento à disposição dos Precursores Aeroterrestres.
Abstract The Precursores Aeroterrestres Company faces, in actuality, a great difficulty in combating the shortage of staff, as do the Parachute Units, Brigada de Reação Rápida, and even the Army in general. To identify the motivational factors that draw volunteers, in order to increase enrollment in courses is a key step for the survival of the Company in particular, and globally for the Military Institution. The present investigation is therefore aimed at identifying and analyzing the motivational factors that drive the volunteers to compete for the course (Auxiliar) Precursor Aeroterrestre. This problem of departure intends to be the precisely source for future works to develop concrete measures so as to give greater visibility to the aspects that most captivate the military and otherwise correct the aspects that affect their interests. Therefore, two objectives are intended to be reached with the present work. First, to analyze the most important motivational factors for the military, in order to improve the attractiveness and to eliminate the unpleasant aspects, and, second, to apply this study to broader realities, such as the different paratrooper units individually, the paratrooper units in general, units of special troops, Operações Especiais and Comandos, or the Brigada de Reação Rápida as a whole. This study first undertook a more theoretical phase, a literature search and document analysis, complemented by exploratory interviews applied to different experts, so as to clearly identify what the motivational aspects are for this particular reality which is the Precursores Aeroterrestres. Subsequently, having the theoretical foundations that allow for the start of field work, the study produced a survey in the form of a questionnaire and its application to a representative sample of military paratroopers from the Brigada de Reação Rápida, and by military in their training for the different groups. One of the most significant results demonstrated the great similarity of perceptions between groups of officers, sergeants and soldiers, in respect of different motivational factors. This fact is not the case however when the subsamples are based on the different units of the military. In this case, we are able to see significant differences between the perceptions of the military from the Escola de Tropas Paraquedistas and from other units. Among the key findings, noted of the Precursores Aeroterrestres Company at the level of motivational factors in general, emphasizes the desire of responsibility by the military (80.7%) as a result of the missions undertaken. Among the extrinsic factors working conditions stands out 74.4%, a result primarily of the positive perception of the military in respect of the material, equipment and weapons at the disposal of the Precursores Aeroterrestres.
