Abstract(s)
O presente documento, realizado no âmbito da conclusão do Mestrado em Enfermagem Médico-
Cirúrgica, na área de Enfermagem à Pessoa em Situação Perioperatória, da Escola Superior de
Enfermagem do Porto, preconiza a análise crítica do processo de aquisição e desenvolvimento
de competências do Enfermeiro Especialista em Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica, na área de
Enfermagem à Pessoa em Situação Perioperatória.
Este processo de aquisição e desenvolvimento de competências resulta de uma relação
simbiótica entre a componente teórica, decorrente das unidades curriculares que constam do
plano de estudos deste curso, e a componente prática, decorrente dos estágios de natureza
profissional, realizados em contexto de Unidade de Cirurgia de Ambulatório e de Unidade de
Cuidados Pós-Anestésicos. A metodologia utilizada consiste na descrição e reflexão sobre as
atividades desenvolvidas, com base em evidência científica.
As competências relacionadas com a conceção de cuidados são espelhadas no desenvolvimento
dos casos clínicos "Tiroidectomia Total" e "Faloplastia com retalho antebraquial esquerdo",
elaborados na plataforma E4Nursing. O primeiro caso clínico relaciona-se diretamente com o
projeto de desenvolvimento profissional elaborado, nomeado de "EduPOp - App móvel como
intervenção educativa perioperatória em clientes submetidos a tiroidectomia em regime
ambulatório". O segundo caso clínico urge da emergência de aquisição de conhecimento e
competências nesta área cirúrgica.
As aplicações móveis, como intervenções educativas perioperatórias, podem melhorar o nível de
conhecimento e a satisfação dos clientes, a adesão à medicação, os resultados clínicos e os
resultados em saúde, constituindo uma solução económica e altamente acessível a clientes que
aguardam cirurgia.
Assim, com base na observação das práticas no primeiro contexto clínico, surgiu a temática
para o meu projeto de desenvolvimento profissional. Propus-me estudar a viabilidade de uma
aplicação móvel como intervenção educativa perioperatória, que vise capacitar e empoderar o
cliente para a gestão da sua experiência cirúrgica, através de vídeos explicativos que
beneficiam de uma abordagem multidisciplinar. O projeto é direcionado para uma cirurgia em
específico: a tiroidectomia. A escolha desta cirurgia constituiu um desafio pela sua
complexidade e possibilidade de incluir contributos de vários especialistas.
This document, carried out as the conclusion of the Master Degree in Nursing for the Person in Perioperative Situation, at Escola Superior de Enfermagem do Porto, advocates a critical analysis of the process of acquisition and development of skills in this area. This process of acquiring and developing skills results from a symbiotic relationship between the theoretical component, resulting from the curricular units included in the syllabus of this course, and the clinical component, resulting from professional internships, carried out in the context of an Ambulatory Surgery Unit and a Post-Anesthetic Care Unit. The methodology used consists in describing and reflecting about the activities developed, based on scientific evidence. The skills related to care design are reflected in the development of the clinical cases "Total Thyroidectomy" and "Phalloplasty with left antebrachial flap", carried on E4Nursing platform. The first clinical case is directly related with the professional project developed, named "EduPOp - Mobile app as a perioperative educational intervention for clients undergoing thyroidectomy on an outpatient basis". The second clinical case arises from the emergency need of acquisition of knowledge and skills in this surgical area. Mobile applications, as perioperative educational interventions, can improve the client knowledge level and satisfaction, medication adherence, clinical outcomes and health outcomes, providing an affordable and highly accessible solution for clients awaiting surgery. Thus, based on observation of practices in the first clinical context, the theme for my professional project emerged. I aimed to study the feasibility of a mobile application as a perioperative educational intervention, which aims to teach and empower the client to manage their surgical experience, through explanatory videos that benefit from a multidisciplinary approach. The project focuses on a specific surgery: thyroidectomy. The choice of this surgery was a challenge due to its complexity and the possibility of including contributions from several specialists.
