Abstract(s)
autoavaliação e avaliação institucional do desempenho profissional.
questionário online foi partilhado a 13/10/2022 e compreendia: (i) identificação/dados
biográficos (sexo; classe de idade; altura; peso; categoria profissional; tempo de serviço;
comando); (ii) International Physical Activity Questionnaire - short form (IPAQ); (iii) Short
Form Health Survey version-2.0 (SF-36v2); (iv) Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire
(PAR-Q); e (v) avaliação do desempenho (autoavaliação e última avaliação institucional).
ativos; (ii) 42.8% dos participantes estão prontos para iniciar a prática de exercícios físicos;
OBJECTIVE: To study the association and significance of physical activity, health-related quality of life, and exercise readiness of police officers with self-assessment and institutional evaluation of job performance. METHODS: This is a cross-sectional study, in which 691 complete/valid online surveys were considered, through a stratified random probability sample, corresponding to a margin of error of 3.66%, for a confidence level of 95%. The online questionnaire was shared on 13OCT2022, and included: (i) identification/biographical data (gender; age class; height; weight; professional category; length of service; command); (ii) International Physical Activity Questionnaire - short form (IPAQ); (iii) Short Form Health Survey version-2.0 (SF 36v2); (iv) Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q); (v) performance evaluation (self-assessment and last institutional evaluation). RESULTS: It was observed that: (i) most participants (73.7%) are physically active; (ii) 42. 8% of the participants are ready to start exercising; (iii) in the self-assessment of performance, there is an influence of time spent in vigorous activity (days) and in total (days), weekly energy expenditure in walking and in vigorous activity, physical function, physical performance, body pain, general health, vitality, social function, emotional performance, and mental health; (iv) weekly walking energy expenditure, general health, and mental health are significant predictors of self-rated performance; and (v) vigorous activity (minutes) seems to be associated with performance evaluation, being a significant predictor of it. CONCLUSIONS: Physical activity, especially vigorous physical activity, is associated with better self-assessment and evaluation of police officers' job performance. Thus, it seems pertinent to create incentives for police officers to increase their levels of physical activity, considering its numerous advantages.
