Abstract(s)
Resultados: A apli-
Brief Rationale: Depression in the older population has proven to be one of the conditions that, associated with other medical diagnoses, have the greatest impact on their functionality. The Nurse Specialist in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing (NSMPN), as a member of the multidisciplinary team, due to his/her specialized training, shows him/herself to be a professional capable of building a therapeutic re- lationship with the person, capable of initiating a psychotherapeutic intervention with health outcomes. Objectives: To demonstrate the acquisition of common, specific, and master competences of the EEESMP developed in stage 1 and final stage. Methodology: Focused on Clinical Reasoning and on the Care Pro- cess, going through the phases of initial assessment, Planning, Intervention Implementation and Results Evaluation. In Stage 1, we chose to develop a clinical case of an older person with depression. In the Final Stage, based on the principles of elder-centred care with depression, we applied the psychotherapeutic intervention Metacognitive Training for the older person with Depression (MCT-Silver). Results: The ap- plication of MCT-Silver, showed favourable results at the level of improvement of Self-esteem and de- pressive mood. Conclusion: This report reflects the learning process developed throughout the master's course, as well as the acquisition of competencies based on the knowledge and skills of the EEESMP, fo- cusing on the older person with depression.
