Abstract(s)
Introduction: Dental fluorosis has implications for quality of life. Several treatments were recommended in order to mask the fluorosis stains and restore the aesthetics and function of the fluorotic enamel. In this sense, this systematic review is the description of the different solutions in the treatment of enamel stains due to fluorosis. Materials and methods: The search was performed in 5 databases MEDLINE (via Pubmed), Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Web of Science, LILACS and ClinicalTrials.gov until March 2022. The review was performed according to the guidelines Items preferred reports for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA). Randomized and non-randomized studies on the treatment of dental fluorosis were included. The risk of bias was assessed using the Cochrane Risk-of-Bias 2 (RoB2) and Risk Of Bias In Non-Randomized Studies - of Interventions (ROBINS-I) tool for randomized and non-randomized trials, respectively. Results: From studies 520 articles, 27 were studied for qualitative analysis. 954 participants aged between 6-50 were included. The treatments between microblading, bleaching performed, infiltration of or treatments, in one of 2799 total teeth. methodological quality of the measure was limited, which indicates evidence. Bleaching met and the infiltration of satisfactory results. The combined treatment of resin infiltration with targeted bleaching or microabrasion with bleaching has potential compared to just one major treatment. Conclusion: According to the existing evidence, several techniques in the treatment of dental fluorosis are performed to mask/treat enamel stains by fluorosis. The selected bleaching and infiltration treatments are the most effective for fluorosis, and can be performed.
