Meios digitais e violĂȘncias no namoro: que desafios ao policiamento?

O fenĂłmeno da globalização e os progressos tecnolĂłgicos conduziram a diversas modificaçÔes, entre as quais a quebra da âbarreiraâ da distĂąncia fĂsica, permitindo que as interaçÔes pessoais, embora Ă distĂąncia, ocorram em tempo real, e de forma imediata, atravĂ©s de um ecrĂŁ. Com o aumento destas interaçÔes digitais, os riscos de criminalidade sĂŁo tambĂ©m exponenciais, o que levou a um alerta social e Ă tomada de medidas legais para os combater.
A violĂȘncia domĂ©stica situa-se entre os principais crimes registados em Portugal, constituindo uma preocupação social constante, conduzindo a diversas alteraçÔes legislativas, campanhas preventivas e procedimentos especĂficos adotados, nomeadamente pelas autoridades policiais para dar resposta a esta tipologia criminal.
Tendo em conta o impacto social destes dois fenĂłmenos, procurou-se estudar a intersecção preferencial entre ambos: a violĂȘncia no namoro com recurso aos meios digitais. O estudo focou-se assim numa realidade que afeta ou pode afetar em especial a população jovem, aquela em que Ă© predominante a relação de namoro e que utiliza, em maior escala os meios digitais.
O presente estudo procurou tentar compreender que desafios sĂŁo colocados Ă s prĂĄticas de policiamento pela violĂȘncia no namoro com recurso aos meios digitais, tendo em vista contribuir para a identificação dos melhores procedimentos a adotar no policiamento para este tipo de crime.
Com recurso a 3 entrevistas realizadas e 45 respostas obtidas na sequĂȘncia de aplicação de questionĂĄrio a polĂcias com responsabilidades especĂficas na violĂȘncia domĂ©stica foram obtidas pistas para o aperfeiçoamento contĂnuo dessa intervenção, sobre as quais se procurou refletir no presente estudo.
The phenomenon of globalization and technological progress have led to several changes, including the breaking of the physical distance "barrier", allowing personal interactions, although at a distance, to take place in real time, and immediately, through a screen. With the increase in these digital interactions, the risks of crime are also exponential, which has led to social alert and legal measures to combat them. Domestic violence is among the main crimes registered in Portugal, being a constant social concern, leading to several legislative changes, preventive campaigns and specific procedures adopted, namely by police authorities to respond to this type of crime. Considering the social impact of these two phenomena, we tried to study the preferential intersection between them: dating violence using digital media. The study thus focused on a reality that affects or may affect in particular the young population, that in which the dating relationship is predominant and that uses, in a larger scale, digital media. This study sought to understand the challenges posed to the policing practices of dating violence using digital media, in order to contribute to the identification of the best procedures to be adopted in the policing of this type of crime. Using 3 interviews and 45 answers obtained after applying a questionnaire to police officers with specific responsibilities in domestic violence, we obtained clues for the continuous improvement of this intervention, on which we tried to reflect in this study.
