Abstract(s)
turistas. As viagens de finalistas no ensino secundário, temática principal desta presente
dissertação, têm contribuído para o fomento e desenvolvimento do turismo juvenil. Estas
In the last few decades, youth tourism had created a major economic impact on the tourism market and for that it has become a source of investment by travel agencies, that want to meet more than ever to the interests and needs of young tourists. Senior year travel in secondary education, the main theme of this dissertation, has contributed to the promotion and development of youth tourism. These trips are events that started mainly in the USA in the 50's and 60's and in Europe their origin may be associated with the event of the “Grand Tour”. In Portugal, although these are still recent, they are already an important commercialized tourism product, having as destinations targets some cities and towns of Spain. The outcome of making these trips in some touristic destinations can be an important engine of local economic development, namely in tourism, hospitality, commerce and catering, so our main gold in this dissertation is to analyze and evaluate the contributions of finalist travel to local dynamism and development, in tourist destinations such as Punta Umbria. Over the past few years, finalist travel in Punta Umbría, the subject of this case study, has been organized by Xtravel through the Festival Village Resort Edition. For a better analysis of this event, surveys and interviews were conducted to gather feedback from alumni and the organizing travel agency to assess their impact on the development, promotion and local dynamism of Punta Umbria, as well as their future perspectives on finalist travel.
