Abstract(s)
The main objective of this study is to analyze discursively the statements presented in the LGBTI+ discourse, religious discourse, erotic discourse and the intertextuality contained in the five episodes of the first season of the SuperDrags series, produced and distributed by Netflix platform in 2018. Due to our object of study is configured as a serial audiovisual cultural product made available on a streaming platform, considered a television hyperelia, the discussion about the changes impelled to the serial fictional genre is established as an important point for a contextualization for the extension where our object of investigation is established. Furthermore, explaining the operability of humor, irony and stereotypes in the composition of a narrative, specifically, is another circumstance debated in this study since all these elements are challenged in the SuperDrags series. And finally, in an attempt to understand SuperDrags' narrative-discursive choices and to supplement the analytical part of our research, it is necessary to clash between what gender and sex regulation push as accepted and what Queer Theory, for its part, argues that it is nothing more than the subversion at the socio-cultural-political level of the domination of the binary system in which sexuality and gender are embedded. As a methodological choice, it is prized for a theoretical-analytical model, so that is why the Discourse Analysis, from a French current, is selected for selecting important concepts that can be chosen for further analysis. Finally, for the analysis, the intention is to verify how the discourses, respectively LGBTI +, religious and erotic combined with intertextuality, circulate in the SuperDrags series, starting from the premise that it is positioned to defend the subversion of domination imposed by gender and sex norms using humor, irony and articulating stereotypes to achieve this goal; and what may be reiterated as a result of this analysis is that our object of study discursively corroborates the assumption of gender and gender subversion.
