Os departamentos de Recursos Humanos confrontam-se com o grande desafio de provar que o investimento no Capital Humano dá resposta às exigências da sociedade empresarial altamente competitiva. Por sua vez, os gestores têm expectativas de que os departamento de Recursos Humanos os apoiem no alcance dos seus objetivos, dinamizando projetos que desenvolvam o Capital Humano da organização.
O objetivo desta dissertação de Mestrado é mostrar, através de um estudo de caso de uma empresa portuguesa com uma Universidade Corporativa, que este modelo de formação e desenvolvimento colabora para a retenção dos seus colaboradores. Assim, explora os modelos e os objetivos que orientam a aplicação do modelo de Universidade Corporativa para concretizar a sua missão - tornar a atividade formativa muito mais dirigida, quer a necessidades individuais quer a necessidades do próprio negócio, o que faz reforçar o seu compromisso com a organização, e por consequência, responder profissionalmente com um desempenho superior.
A principal conclusão do estudo é que a Universidade Corporativa é um instrumento estratégico e valioso para os gestores de Recursos Humanos desenvolverem o Capital Humano e reter o Talento.
The Human Resources departments face the great challenge of proving that investing on Human Capital helps organizations to respond to the demands of a highly competitive business environment. On the other hand, managers expect that Human Resources departments help them to achieve their goals by promoting projects that develop the organizational Human Capital. The purpose of the current MA dissertation is to show, through the study of a Portuguese corporate university, that this model of educating and training Human Resources contributes to employee retention. It explores models and objectives that guide the application of the Corporate university model in order to achieve its mission of tailoring the in-house training in accordance to the individual and organizational needs. By doing so, it reinforces employee organizational engagement and commitment, which in turn will positively impact on the organizational performance. The main conclusion of the study is that corporate universities are a strategical and valuable tool that Human Resources Managers can use to develop organizational Human Capital and retain Talent.
