Abstract(s)
Com o presente estudo, pretende-se, através de pesquisa pertinente e adequada, explicar a conotação do TikTok com a música Pop, o papel desta plataforma digital na promoção de músicos bem como a perspetiva da indústria da música e dos utilizadores/ consumidores, de música Pop, perante esta temática. Para tal, optou-se por explorar a metodologia mista – estudo exploratório com entrevista e inquérito por questionário. Assim, este estudo versa a perspetiva da indústria da música em Portugal uma vez, que por questões de acessibilidade, se torna possível e alcançável a realização do mesmo. No decorrer do estudo, é possível constatar que esta indústria tem sofrido alterações com a evolução do digital, as plataformas são agora o novo “palco” destes profissionais e a nova forma de consumir música que, permite aos utilizadores, descobrir novos artistas. São estas plataformas que têm ditado o desenvolvimento e implementação de novas estratégias de promoção, focando-se nas preferências dos utilizadores e nas suas exigências enquanto consumidores de música. Desta forma, a presente dissertação visa levantar noções e conclusões relevantes à carreira de artistas de música Pop através da dupla perspetiva da indústria e dos utilizadores da plataforma TikTok para uma melhor compreensão das necessidades dos consudmidores de música e utilizadores do TikTok de forma a atender, da forma mais eficaz possível, às suas necessidades e expectativas. Só assim é possível construir uma base sólida e coesa de fãs, apoiantes do trabalho dos artistas.
The aim of this study is, through relevant and appropriate research, to explain TikTok's connotation with Pop music, the role of this digital platform in promoting musicians and the perspective of the music industry and Pop music users/consumers on this issue. To this end, we chose to explore the mixed methodology - exploratory study with interview and questionnaire. Thus, this study deals with the perspective of the music industry in Portugal since, for reasons of accessibility, it is possible and achievable to carry it out. During the study, it was possible to see that this industry has undergone changes with the evolution of digital media. Platforms are now the new “stage” for these professionals and the new way of consuming music that allows users to discover new artists. It is these platforms that have dictated the development and implementation of new promotion strategies, focusing on user preferences and their demands as music consumers. In this way, this dissertation aims to raise notions and conclusions relevant to the career of Pop music artists through the dual perspective of the industry and the users of the TikTok platform to better understand the needs of music consumers and TikTok users to meet their needs and expectations as effectively as possible. This is the only way to build a solid and cohesive fan base that supports the work of artists.
