Abstract(s)
In an organizational context that suffers constant change, it is more and more important that people are capable of not only adapt to all kinds of work environments, but also able to keep on working effectively. In this context, the present study tries to analyse the possible relationships that Resilience and Organizational Citizenship Behaviours (OCB) have, by exploring the impact that resilience has on OCB on the Portuguese Naval Academy cadets and by perceiving if resilience and OCB are affected by the year that the cadets attend. The sample for this study consisted in 192 cadets, distributed by the five different years that exist in the Naval Academy, to which was a given a questionnaire that consisted in three parts, demographic variables, Resilience and OCB. To analyse the relationship between Resilience and OCB, we used the correlation coefficient R of Pearson. To analyse the differences of levels of Resilience and OCB, between Portuguese Naval Academy students from different years, we used the testes of One-Way ANOVA and Gabriel post-hoc. The results that have been achieved support all the foreseen hypotheses, allowing us to identify that the relationship between Resilience and OCB is positive and that there are significant differences between Portuguese Naval Academy students belonging to different academic years, not only on the level of Resilience, but also on the level of OCB.
