Abstract(s)
One of the fundamental and useful pedagogical innovations of the last decades was undoubtedly the inclusion of young people with special needs. The great initiators of this movement were surely the families of many of these young people, joined by a large group of professionals, researchers and, lastly, political leaders. Warnock (1978) was a great booster of this recent and unfinished story. This researcher established the new concept of Special Educational Needs and its implicit value of equality in difference (equality in rights and ends, difference of processes and resources to reach those), the importance of early intervention, orientation and support to labor integration, the new guidelines for teacher training, and the reorganization of schools in order to make the transition from school to work. Access to work has always been and continues to be one of the great common objectives of men and is one of the most important instruments for the inclusion of people in society, a synonym for being free, independent and autonomous, indispensable for accessing a developed society and benefiting from system of social protection. Not only the school but also the family and the awareness of entrepreneurs will make this process happen more efficiently.
