Abstract(s)
O desenvolvimento do projeto envolveu três principais etapas.
o património edificado, promovendo o desenvolvimento urbano sustentável e respeitando a história
e o contexto cultural.
The architectural rehabilitation of the multi-use building of the Câmara Municipal do Montijo aimed to transform the space to accommodate technical services, ensuring the preservation of the architectural heritage and the necessary modernization for its new function. This project was carried out in several phases, starting with a detailed analysis of the building, the identification of pathologies, and the formulation of a proposal that balances innovation and respect for the history of the site. The development of the project involved three main stages. The first consisted of a historical and architectural survey of the building, followed by an evaluation of the functional needs of the Câmara’s technical services. In the second phase, a diagnosis was made on the state of conservation of the structure, which included the identification of pathologies and the assessment of the feasibility of a sustainable rehabilitation. Finally, in the third stage, the focus was on creating a detailed architectural program, integrating solutions for accessibility, sustainability, and energy efficiency. The intervention respected the building’s historical elements, such as the façade and original structure, while introducing modern materials to ensure functional efficiency and user comfort. The proposal also addressed the improvement of accessibility and the introduction of natural ventilation solutions, in addition to complying with safety and sustainability regulations. As a result, the project successfully harmonized the preservation of the building with its adaptation to new uses, achieving the set objectives. The intervention offers a functional environment that meets contemporary demands without compromising the historical identity of the space. This project demonstrates the importance of architectural rehabilitation as a tool for revitalizing built heritage, promoting sustainable urban development, and respecting history and cultural context
