Abstract(s)
This report reflects on the learning path and the development of specific competences of a midwife nurse, as well as the competences of the academic master´s degree, within the Curricular Unit Internship with report of the 11 th Master´s Course in Maternal Health and Obstetrics, from the School of Nursing of Lisbon. Adequate and personalized assistance enables the creation and regain of confidence by women, promoting feelings of hope and acquisition of strategies for a positive childbirth experience. In this sense, this report aims to identify the scientific evidence about the contribution of midwifes in the management of fears of pregnant women, for the promotion of a positive childbirth experience. This evidence was achieved through a literature review using the Scoping Review methodology, according to the guidelines of the Joanna Briggs Institute (2020). The theoretical framework underlying the nursing care provided was Betty Neuman´s theoretical model – through your Systems Theory. During the Internship with Report, a data collection instrument (questionnaire) was designed for and implemented on 8 women (pregnant/new mothers) and after statistical analysis and content analysis, categories and subcategories emerged that meet the results of the scientific evidence (Bardin, 2020). From the analysis of the results obtained, it was evident that preparation for childbirth has positive results in minimizing fears and anxiety, being an autonomous intervention of the midwifes that promotes the pregnant woman´s self knowledge, self-confidence and self-efficacy. Effectively, the preparation for the birth allows the empowerment of the pregnant woman, increasing her satisfaction with the birth experience.
