Abstract(s)
A liderança na Polícia de Segurança Pública desempenha um papel irrefutável no
desempenho dos polícias. À liderança é-lhe reconhecido um papel importante no que diz
respeito ao desenvolvimento de comportamentos e atitudes dos liderados em contexto
laboral.
Assim, o objetivo deste estudo é analisar de que forma a liderança transformacional
influencia desempenho, quando mediada pelo capital psicológico.
Realizou-se um estudo quantitativo, através da aplicação de um questionário junto dos
polícias da Polícia de Segurança Pública, tendo sido obtidos 797 respostas válidas.
Os resultados indicam que: i) a liderança transformacional está significativamente e
positivamente relacionada com o capital psicológico e indiretamente com o desempenho;
ii) o capital psicológico está evidentemente relacionado com o desempenho; iii) o capital
psicológico medeia a relação entre a liderança transformacional e o desempenho.
O presente estudo será significativo para a liderança na Polícia de Segurança Pública,
trazendo um contributo importante nesta área de análise.
Leadership in the Public Security Police plays an irrefutable role in the performance of police officers. Leadership is recognized as having an important role in the development of behaviors and attitudes of subordinates in the work context. Thus, the purpose of this study is to analyze how transformational leadership influences performance when mediated by psychological capital. A quantitative study was carried out, through the application of a questionnaire to the police of the Public Security Police, and 797 valid answers were obtained. The results indicate that: i) transformational leadership is significantly and positively related to psychological capital and indirectly to performance; ii) psychological capital is evidently related to performance; iii) psychological capital mediates the relationship between transformational leadership and performance. The present study will be significant for leadership in the Public Security Police, bringing an important contribution in this area of analysis.
