Abstract(s)
A pandemia Covid-19 abriu portas
da pandemia Covid-19 no número de VDRN no ACES Oeste Sul em 2019 e 2022;
A pandemia Covid-19 teve impacto
The subject of home visits to newborn children (HVNC) assumes the understanding that families are in constant transformation, subject to transitions arising from their own development process, and their vital cycle. The Covid-19 pandemic has opened doors to uncertainty, causing an immediate adaptation in the routines of nurses, inducing anxiety and fear which ultimately end up harming health care (in this particular case the home visitation of newborns). The nurse specialist in child and pediatric health plays an important role in invigorating, guiding and having a positive intervention in this activity. HVNC is an indicator of the quality of nursing care in Primary Health Care, so its compliance has benefits not only for the newborn/family, but also for the Global Performance Index (GPI) of the health units. The guiding questions of the study are: What impact did the pandemic have on the indicator for home visits to newborn children? Which factors influence home visits to newborns after the restrictions introduced by the pandemic? The objectives of this analysis are as follows: to quantify the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the number of home nursing visits to newborns in the Southwest ACES; to get to know the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on nursing care; to get to know the factors which influence the low adherence of nursing teams’ compliance with the quality indicator associated with the subject of the multidimensional matrix of the GPI nº 15 (proportion of newborns with house visitations up to the first 15 days of life) in 2019 and 2022, regarding the Southwest ACES. This is a retrospective, exploratory-descriptive study with a quantitative approach, with an intentional non-probabilistic sample in which nurses from ACES Oeste Sul who perform pediatric health consultations were included. Data collection was performed by completing an online questionnaire with data on the characterization of the sample, the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on HVNC and the training needs of nurses to carry them out. The subsequent results show that the Covid-19 pandemic did not have an impact on the number of home nursing visits to newborns executed by the Southwest ACES, however there are circumstances which condition its performance by nurses. The Covid-19 pandemic has had a negative impact on family’s access to nursing care and organization of nursing services, and a positive impact on relationships between colleagues and the multidisciplinary team (collaboration between elements, appreciation of nursing autonomy).
