Abstract(s)
The present report presents the description and reflection of the experiences lived during the Practice and Supervised Intervention in a Nursery room and Kindergarten room. In these contexts we developed a study focused on the promotion of healthy eating habits in Pre-school Education, following a methodological approach of action-research, focusing on the following objectives: to verify what knowledge children have regarding food; find out what are the main food choices of children; observe the behavior/reaction of children to particular foods; promote healthy eating habits, through pedagogical strategies contextualized and directed to the real needs of the group. The main study was carried out with a group of 23 kindergarten children aged between 3 and 6 years. An interview model was designed to collect information regarding children's knowledge, preferences and eating habits that allowed the identification of critical aspects on which food education activities were then focused. The analysis and interpretation of the emerging data contributed to the understanding of the object of study and enabled us to recognize the importance of a contextualized, directed and systematic approach in the field of food education. The methodology focused on action-research, as a reflexive training strategy, allowing us to regulate the action continuously through the collection and analysis of emerging data. This methodological approach contributed in a striking way to the improvement of our educational practice, since it allowed the construction and reconstruction of personal and professional competences.
