Abstract(s)
This Final Report was prepared taking into account activities developed during the curricular internship carried out in the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education, in the subject of mathematics, within the scope of the master’s degree in teaching in the 1st Cycle of Basic Education and Mathematics and Natural Sciences in the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education. It is structured in three sections: Introduction, Investigative Component and Reflective Component. The Introduction provides a brief overview of this Final Report. The Investigative Component focuses on a set of planned, applied and analyzed tasks for a 5th grade class of the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education, aiming to identify the influence of the use of manipulable material, through exploratory teaching, on the learning of triangular inequality. To this end, a qualitative, descriptive and interpretative study was carried out. The data were collected through audio files, direct observation and photographs of the students' productions from which the transcriptions were made. It was observed that the use of manipulative materials helped students understand the topic under study. The use of exploratory teaching also proved to be effective in approaching the topic, allowing the emergence of different problem-solving strategies. Finally, the Reflective Component presents a description and reflection on the internship process carried out in the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education.
