Abstract(s)
Promover formação em serviço com Ajudantes de Ação Direta (AAD), é um
investimento em saúde, que disponibiliza a oportunidade de autocuidado com a
educação, para o desenvolvimento de habilidades profissionais e pessoais que por sua
vez promovem a redução das desigualdades no acesso, na qualidade e na segurança
dos cuidados de saúde.
Os AAD são um grupo profissional vulnerável, com baixas qualificações para as
funções de apoio que desempenham, e a sua formação não acompanha o aumento e
complexidade dos cuidados integrados prestados no domicílio nesta sociedade em
constante mudança tecnológica e demográfica. A baixa qualificação pode afetar a saúde
dos AAD, assim como comprometer a acessibilidade aos cuidados de saúde integrados,
e a qualidade dos serviços de apoio no autocuidado prestados no domicílio.
No exercício de desenvolvimento de competências específicas de enfermeiro
especialista em Enfermagem Comunitária, e no cumprimento ético “Do dever para com
a comunidade”, desenvolveu-se um projeto de intervenção comunitária teoricamente
referenciado no modelo de sistemas de Betty Neuman e na metodologia do planeamento
em saúde com o objetivo de capacitar este grupo profissional na prestação de apoio no
autocuidado às pessoas em situação de dependência nas Atividades de Vida Diária.
Realizou-se um estudo descritivo numa amostra de 22 AAD, funcionários de uma
entidade de apoio social da área de influência de uma Unidade de Cuidados na
Comunidade da Área Regional de Saúde de Lisboa e Vale do Tejo. Caracterizou-se o
grau de dificuldade com que desempenham as funções de apoio e identificou-se
necessidades formativas que permitiu planear ações formativas em serviço de resposta
aos problemas prioritários de: 46% de AAD com dificuldade no desempenho de
atividades de apoio à eliminação; 45% de AAD com dificuldade na comunicação; 38% de
AAD com dificuldade no desempenho de cuidados de higiene e conforto. A estratégia de
intervenção em Formação em Serviço interveio ao primeiro nível de prevenção, como um
recurso fundamental no suporte à promoção da melhoria continua dos ambientes da
prestação de cuidados. A avaliação dos indicadores escolhidos mostrou que a
intervenção contribuiu para capacitar os AAD na prestação de apoio no autocuidado às
Pessoas em situação de dependência nas Atividades de Vida Diária.
Promoting the in-service professional development of Direct-Action Assistants (DAA) is an investment in health that offers the opportunity of self-care alongside education. It empowers individuals and professionals, which in turn will reduce inequalities in access, care standards and safety within healthcare. DAAs are a vulnerable group. They are not qualified enough for the support they are required to offer, and their current professional development is not keeping up to date with the expansion in complexity of the integrated care services provided at home in a technologically and demographically ever-evolving society. This vulnerability can affect DAA's own health, patient's access to integrated health care and the quality of self-care support services at home. As part of the development of competencies for a Specialist community Nurse, as well as to fulfil an ethical duty of care towards the community, the Community intervention Project, theoretically referenced in the Betty Neuman's systems model and in the Health Planning Methodology, has the objective of empowering this professional group to offer support to a person with dependency on self-care. A descriptive study involving 22 DAA's working for a entity who offers social support in the area of influence of a Community Care Unit, around the Health Regional Area of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, portrayed the level of difficulty these professionals face when trying to perform their social care duties, which in turn inspired a planned response including the sponsoring of in-service professional development in priority issues of: 46% of DAA's complained of difficulties around supporting elimination; 45% of DAA's complained of communication difficulties; 38% of DAA's complained of facing difficulties in supporting patient's hygiene and comfort. The investment in professional Education strategy, works on first - level prevention as a fundamental resource in the continuous improvement of health care setting and according to indicators chosen, shows an improvement in DAA's skills to offer support to a person with dependency on self-care.
