The dissertation entitled "From bare metal to multi cloud", had as its main approach the use of various cloud computing providers and, mainly, the creation of a methodology that can provide a muscular solution for the business environment, from in order to facilitate the transition between suppliers or the "joint" use between them. The objective was to investigate the characteristics, benefits and challenges of managing multiple infrastructures virtualized by the Openstack platform, an operating system in multiple clouds. regarding the approach, the study was noncorrelation, regarding the level of investigation it was descriptive, regarding the research method was non-experimental, with 4 operators and 1 manager (100% of the population) of the selected institution to carry out empirical research, collection of data and observation of the organizational reality. The results were organized into chapters, in which it was possible to analyze a vision g general and conceptual of cloud computing, the main characteristics of the process of migration of virtual machines between multiple clouds were addressed, through an empirical study, the Openstack platform as a solution for the migration of the lock-in provider was investigated. and VM between multiple clouds facilitating migration, explaining the operational logic through the perceptions of Cloud Commerce managers and operators, scoring advantages in their surveys. Thus, it was concluded that there is a lack of knowledge about the characteristics of Openstack and its use in VMs, and about the migration of lock-in and VM providers between multiple clouds. They were unable to explain or do not understand that technological imprisonment (vendor lock-in) usually represents a risk, especially in the long term.
