dc.description.abstractA qualificação em turismo e a experiência profissional despertou-nos o interesse em explorar a temática numa vertente Turismo/Saúde e com base na Gerontologia sobre “o que é feito” e “o que se pode fazer”, “quem desenvolve” e “quem pode desenvolver”, “quem motiva” e “quem pode motivar”, “quem viaja”, “quem interage” e “impactos reais ao longo do tempo de vida”, ou seja, valorizar o conhecimento social sobre as matérias mencionadas. Com a criação do Ano Europeu de Envelhecimento Ativo, houve uma tomada de consciência e de sensibilização para a problemática da idade e dos desafios por parte das autoridades públicas, parceiros sociais e organizações da sociedade civil, conciliando a preocupação da saúde, do bem-estar e da qualidade de vida com a maior indústria mundial, o Turismo. Nesse sentido, o interesse no tema surgiu para desmistificar estereótipos do envelhecimento e possibilitar à sociedade, novas maneiras de pensar e tratar o idoso, acreditando que, a partir da identificação das necessidades de lazer, facilidade e dificuldade, será possível elaborar e propor mais e melhores programas específicos que atendam e satisfaçam este grupo etário, evidenciando “Turismo e Envelhecimento”, “Turismo Sénior e Gerontologia”, “Destinos Turísticos para Seniores”, “Turismo de Saúde: Termalismo”, “Turismo Social para Seniores: cidadania e direitos (assistência médica adequada, acesso facilitado aos equipamentos, política de lazer com interesses e necessidades especificas da idade)”, “Turismo Como Meio de Inclusão: Descontração e Interação”, “Envelhecimento e Políticas Públicas” e “Como o Turismo pode trazer benefícios ao idoso: no envelhecimento, nas alterações que se referem às repercussões do mesmo, em termos sociais (exemplo, a reforma) e em termos de saúde”.pt_PT
dc.description.abstractMy academics and professional experience in tourism have motivated me to explore the thematic from a tourism/health point of view, based on the Gerontology goals of “what has been achieved" and "what can be achieved", "who develops" and "who can develop"," who motivates" and "who can motivate ","who travels", "who interacts" and the "real impacts throughout the life time ", i.e. to value the social knowledge of the subject matter under discussion. With the foundation of the European Year of Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations, we have seen an increase of awareness and responsiveness regarding the ageing problematic and its challenges by public authorities, social partners and civil society organizations, trying to reconcile health concerns, welfare and quality of life with the world's largest industry, tourism. In this regard, the interest in this topic derives from the need to demystify ageing stereotypes and allow society new ways of thinking and treating the elderly, believing that once leisure needs, difficulty and simplicity have been identified, one should be able to prepare and propose further and better programs that meet the needs and requirements of this age group, for example "Tourism and Aging", "Senior Tourism and Gerontology", "Tourist Attractions for Seniors", "Health Tourism: Thermalism", "Social Tourism for Seniors: citizenship and rights (adequate health care, easy access to equipment, leisure policy with specific age interests and requirements)", "Tourism as means of inclusion: Recreation and Interaction", "Ageing and Public Policies" and "How tourism can bring benefits to the elderly: during the ageing process and the changes concerning the same process, in social (for example: retirement) and in health terms."pt_PT
