Abstract(s)
The intensity of loneliness varies according to individual characteristics. This study analysed the profile of Brazilian immigrant women in Portugal with the greatest loneliness, their satisfaction with social support and psychological symptoms. Sociodemographic questionnaires, the UCLA Loneliness Scale, the Satisfaction with Social Support Scale and the Brief Symptom Inventory - 18 were applied, distributed by convenience and snowballing on social networks and messaging apps. Women between the ages of 28 and 47, with higher educational attainment and low satisfaction with social support (especially friends, family and social activities) showed greater loneliness. Other sociodemographic aspects showed no differences between groups with high and low levels of loneliness. The study highlighted social support as the most significant variable, both for the descriptive test of the sample and for the correlation between the variables.
