No âmbito do Trabalho de Investigação Aplicada, o presente estudo incidiu sobre o
“Combate em Áreas Edificadas e sua implicação no desenvolvimento de competências de Comando e Liderança”. O objetivo principal deste trabalho é contribuir para o quadro teórico e prático na área dos comportamentos organizacionais, mais precisamente, no que diz respeito ao desenvolvimento das competências de comando e liderança e a implicação das áreas edificadas.
O instrumento para a recolha resultou da adaptação do modelo de competências de
liderança (Rouco, 2012), da revisão de literatura, e ainda da realização de oito entrevistas exploratórias a especialistas. O inquérito final é constituído por 18 competências associadas ao comando e liderança nas operações em áreas edificadas, aplicado a uma amostra de cento e cinquenta militares, divididos por três categorias: Oficiais, Sargentos e Praças. Com base nas respostas obtidas nos inquéritos, efetuou-se o tratamento e análise estatística com o recurso ao programa Statistical Package for Social Sciences.
Da análise das entrevistas e dos questionários, foram identificadas as principais competências de liderança empregues no combate em áreas edificadas: “orientação para tarefa”; “tomar decisões”; “ flexibilidade e adaptabilidade”; “autocontrolo”; “comunicação”; “promoção do desenvolvimento”. Comparando as duas análises, foi possível verificar que “orientação para a tarefa”; “tomar decisões” e “ flexibilidade e adaptabilidade” constituem as principais competências empregues em Combate em Áreas Edificadas.
Conclui-se, ainda, que é nas Praças onde se obtêm valores mais baixos, quanto à
perceção da importância dada às competências de liderança no combate em áreas edificadas.
As ações de comando desempenhadas pelos Oficiais, Sargentos e Cabos exigem a orientação para as tarefas de forma a obterem desempenhos superiores.
Abstract In the context of Working for Applied Research, the presented thesis studies “Combat in Built Environment and its implication in the development of Command and Leadership skills”. The main objective of this study is to contribute to the theoretical and practical framework in the area of organizational behavior, more specifically, with regard to development of command of and leadership skills and the implication of built environment. Data collection resulted from the adaptation of the model of leadership skills (Rouco, 2012), literature review and from eight exploratory interviews experts. The final survey consists of 18 skills associated with leadership and command operations in built environment, carried out to a sample of one hundred and fifty military, divided in the three categories: officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers. Based on the replies received, the statistical analysis was done using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences Program. From the analysis of the interviews and the questionnaires, we identified the core competencies of leadership used in combat in built environment: "guidance for the task"; "decision-making"; "flexibility and adaptability"; "self- control"; "communication"; "promotion of development". The results indicated that the skills "guidance for the task"; "decision-making" and "flexibility and adaptability" appear in both analyses, as the most commonly used in Combat in Built Environment. This paper concludes that it is in the Soldiers where the values are lower in relation to the lack of importance given to leadership skills in Combat in Built Environment. Command actions performed by Officers, Sergeants and Corporals require task orientation in such a way to obtain superior performances.
