| dc.description.abstract | A prevenção de riscos de saúde, a evolução do conhecimento científico e o progresso em termos de técnicas médicas são fatores que levaram a um aumento da expectativa de vida, enquanto a perda de dentes aumenta com a idade. Como resultado, a proporção de pessoas desdentadas também tem aumentado. Essa perda de dentes leva a uma redução na eficácia mastigatória e a uma mudança nos hábitos alimentares; comprometimento da qualidade de vida com distúrbios funcionais da fala, além de consequências psicossociais. A reabilitação protética desses pacientes, de idade cada vez mais avançada, representa um verdadeiro desafio para o médico dentista, que terá que satisfazer o paciente tanto funcional como esteticamente. Hoje em dia, há soluções terapêuticas de longo prazo com alta taxa de sucesso que são propostos; como reabilitação fixa sobre quatro implantes. A reabilitação fixa suportada por implantes é a parte da Medicina Dentária que permite a reconstrução oral, bem como a manutenção da função mastigatória e da aparência do paciente, substituindo todos os dentes por próteses suportadas por implantes osteointegrados. Desde que chegou a implantologia tem comprovado sua fiabilidade nos últimos anos. Existem muitas soluções dentárias fixas no paciente, no entanto aquela que sobressaiu é uma técnica baseada na colocação de quatros implantes angulados com o nome de All-on-4®. A implantologia tem comprovado sua confiabilidade nos últimos anos. Hoje, está provado ser uma solução para pacientes desdentados totais. Contudo, a colocação de implantes é cara e difícil, de facto reduzir o número de implantes tornando as próteses fixas sobre quatro implantes reduzindo a colocação de múltiplos implantes. Dando uma função mastigatória, estética, fonética, redução do envelhecimento da face e permitem uma melhor estabilidade e retenção comparado a prótese total removível convencional. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The prevention of health risks, the evolution of scientific knowledge, the progress in terms of medical techniques are factors that led to an increase in life expectancy, while the loss of teeth increases with age. As a result, the proportion of toothless people is also growing. This loss of teeth leads to a reduction in masticatory efficacy and a change in eating habits; impairment of quality of life with functional speech disorders, as well as psychosocial consequences. The prosthetic rehabilitation of these patients, of increasing age, represents a real challenge for the dentist, that will have to satisfy the patient both functional and aesthetically. Nowadays, there are long-term therapeutic solutions with high success rates that are proposed; as fixed rehabilitation on four implants. The fixed rehabilitation supported by implants is the part of the dentistry that allows the oral reconstruction, as well as the maintenance of the masticatory function and the appearance of the patient, replacing all the teeth with prostheses supported by osseointegrated implants. Since coming, Implantology has proven its reliability in recent years. There are many fixed dental solutions in the patient, however the one that stood out is a technique based on the placement of four angulated implants with the name All-on-4®. Implantology has proven its reliability in recent years. Today, it is proving to be a solution of choice for the management of total toothless patients. However, implant placement is expensive and difficult, in fact reducing the number of implants making the prostheses fixed in four implants less expensive than the placement of multiple implants. This last one allows to give a masticatory function, aesthetic, phonetic, reduction of the aging of the face and allow a better stability and retention compared to conventional removable total prosthesis. | pt_PT |
