Abstract(s)
obter.
The tide study in the Portuguese coast is one of the most important missions of the Hydrographic Institute, associated to the work done in the area of the Hydrography is a vital information for the navigation safety. The scientific community and the agents responsible for harbor construction have a growing interest on this matter as well. The obtained data and its quality control are the basis of the tide study. Due to permanent technologic developments the procedures are in constant formulation and the validation technics are every day more sophisticated. This work aims the creation of Technical Rules and Working Procedures for the Maintenance Multidisciplinary Team of the Hydrographic Institute, which work is the project implementation and the maintenance of tide equipment. As the Hydrographic Institute has a certified Tide Chart, this work wants to demonstrate that the quality of the work to be done can be improved with the establishment of these Rules and Procedures, by implementing improved procedures which will raise the quality of the data thanks to the installed equipment. Besides the certified Tide Chart we will have as well a upstream procedure based in constant rules of execution that will certainly bring us an increase in the quality of the obtained data and consequently an improvement in our final product, which is the annual Tide Chart. The working structure starts with the company identification (Hydrographic Institute), the Technical Bureau identification (belonging to the Maintenance Multidisciplinary Team), working rules and procedures to apply, identification of the places where the data will be taken (Nazaré and Peniche harbor) and study equipment, equipment control and its calibration, data obtained before and after and its analysis for the final conclusions. According to the above mentioned, we can conclude that our final aim will be to demonstrate that if we have a high level on maintenance and installation we will have a better quality of data and as a consequence better forecast of the tide we want to obtain.
