A presente dissertação investiga a gestão de conflitos organizacionais no setor bancário, com enfoque no caso do Banco Millennium BCP em Portugal.
Analisa as causas, tipologias e consequências dos conflitos nas instituições bancárias, bem como as estratégias de resolução implementadas por líderes e equipas.
Através de uma metodologia mista, baseada em entrevistas e questionários, o estudo identifica boas práticas e desafios na gestão de tensões interpessoais e estruturais originadas pela complexidade organizacional, transformação digital e hierarquias rígidas.
Os resultados destacam a relevância da inteligência emocional, da adaptabilidade da liderança e da clareza na comunicação como fatores determinantes na mitigação de conflitos e na promoção de um ambiente de trabalho saudável.
This dissertation explores the dynamics of organizational conflict management in the banking sector, focusing on the case of Millennium BCP in Portugal. The study examines the causes, typologies, and consequences of conflicts within banking institutions, as well as the conflict resolution strategies employed by leaders and teams. Using a mixed-methods approach involving interviews and questionnaires, the research identifies best practices and challenges in managing interpersonal and structural tensions arising from organizational complexity, digital transformation, and hierarchical structures. The findings underline the importance of emotional intelligence, leadership adaptability, and communication clarity in reducing conflict incidence and improving organizational health.
