A presente dissertação tem o intuito de compreender qual o luxo mais procurado na região do Estoril, entre o luxo tradicional e o luxo tecnológico. Assim, através da revisão da literatura, pretendemos definir o conceito de luxo bem como o conceito de luxo em hotelaria, verificar o perfil do cliente e averiguar quais as motivações que o levam a escolher os hotéis, averiguar o que se entende por luxo tecnológico e luxo tradicional para que seja possível efetuar a distinção entre estes, diferenciar o Hotel InterContinental Cascais-Estoril e o Palácio Estoril Hotel, Golf & Wellness.
Como tal, para além da pesquisa efetuada, utilizamos como método de análise qualitativa, entrevistas estruturadas, quer ao diretor geral do Hotel InterContinental Cascais-Estoril doutor Alejandro Álvaro Bautista quer ao diretor geral do Palácio Estoril Hotel, Golf & Wellness doutor Francisco Corrêa de Barros. As questões assentam sobre as características dos hotéis, o cliente e as suas motivações para que seja possível a resposta aos objetivos e à questão de partida.
Foram ainda estipuladas, no capítulo da metodologia, a pergunta de partida e os objetivos a esta associados bem como o modelo conceptual utilizado na dissertação.
Através da análise de resultados constatamos que, de acordo com os dados recolhidos junto dos estabelecimentos hoteleiros, que apesar do luxo tradicional conseguir ter uma grande capacidade de atração de pessoas, o luxo tecnológico representa uma grande importância para os clientes de luxo que procuram constantemente novas tecnologias e gadgets bem como novas experiências tecnológicas que os hotéis de luxo tradicionais não conseguem oferecer.
This dissertation aims to understand what is the most sought after luxury in the Estoril region, between traditional and technological luxury. Thus, through literature review, we intend to define the concept of luxury as well as the concept of luxury in hotels, check the profile of the customer and find out what are the motivations that lead them to choose hotels , find out what is meant by technological luxury and traditional luxury so that it is possible to distinguish between them, differentiate the Hotel InterContinental Cascais-Estoril and the Palácio Estoril Hotel, Golf & Wellness. As such, in addition to the research carried out, we use structured interviews as a method of qualitative analysis, both with the general director of the Hotel InterContinental Cascais-Estoril, doctor Alejandro Álvaro Bautista, and with the general director of Palácio Estoril Hotel, Golf & Wellness, doctor Francisco Corrêa de Barros. The questions are based on the characteristics of the hotels, the client and their motivations so that it is possible to answer the objectives and the starting question. The starting question and its associated objectives, as well as the conceptual model used in the dissertation were also stipulated in the methodology chapter. Through the analysis of results, we can see that, according to the data collected from hotel establishments, despite the fact that traditional luxury can be very attractive to people, technological luxury represents a great importance for luxury customers who are constantly looking for new technologies and gadgets as well as new technological experiences that traditional luxury hotels are unable to offer.
