A presente investigação desenvolvida no âmbito da dissertação de mestrado do curso de Administração Militar procura analisar os principais motivos que contribuem para o silêncio nas Forças Armadas, em especial no Exército português, bem como a importância que a Liderança Ética tem neste contexto.
Ao longo desta dissertação procurou-se fornecer, numa fase introdutória, informação sobre temas principais sobre a temática do trabalho, nomeadamente, a importância de investigar o silêncio com o líder ético. Desta forma, recorreu-se a uma análise quantitativa, através de inquéritos por questionário, aplicados aos militares do Exército português. A investigação permitiu concluir que o nível de silêncio aumenta no ambiente de trabalho, quando existe uma perceção reduzida de liderança ética por parte dos seus líderes.
Em suma, esta dissertação procura dar a conhecer a importância de como liderar os militares com base na ética, com a finalidade de evitar um silêncio prejudicial às Forças Armadas.
The present research developed within the scope of the master's thesis of the Military Administration course, seeks to analyze the main reasons that contribute to silence in the Armed Forces, especially in the Portuguese Army, as well as the importance that Ethical Leadership has in this context. Throughout this dissertation it was sought to provide, in an introductory phase, information on main themes of the work, namely, the importance of investigating silence with the ethical leader. Thus, a quantitative analysis was used, through questionnaires, applied to the military of the Portuguese Army. The research allowed to conclude that the level of silence increases in the work environment when there is a reduced perception of ethical leadership on the part of its leaders. In short, this dissertation seeks to make known the importance of leading the militares based on ethics, in order to avoid a silence detrimental to the Armed Forces.
