dc.description.abstractVisual representation of the migration experience becomes especially important in the context of growing political instability, which has worsened since 2022. Women who left Russia in search of safety face not only legal and social difficulties, but also the erosion of identity, the lack of tools for expressing and representing their own experiences. Official narratives of migration often devalue personal history, generalizing it to statistics or political commentary, while subjective, bodily and emotional experience remains invisible. The From Linearity to Multiplicity project arose as a response to the need to restore visibility and sensitivity to this experience. Based on in-depth interviews with Russian-speaking women who migrated to Portugal after 2022, the project creates a visual-editorial form - a zine, in which each story is presented as a unique bodily-emotional statement. Through illustrations, body metaphors, and the zine's layered materials (including tracing paper, color, and quotations), the project seeks not just to capture memory, but to evoke empathy, attention, and respect for everyday strategies of survival and recovery. The project thus offers an alternative visual language capable of conveying multiple, fragmented, and nonlinear migration trajectories, giving voice to those marginalized by official narratives.eng
dc.description.abstractA representação visual da experiência migratória torna-se especialmente importante num contexto de crescente instabilidade política, agravada desde 2022. As mulheres que deixaram a Rússia em busca de segurança enfrentam não apenas dificuldades legais e sociais, mas também a erosão da identidade e a ausência de ferramentas para expressar e representar as suas próprias vivências. Os discursos oficiais sobre migração tendem frequentemente a desvalorizar as histórias pessoais, reduzindo-as a estatísticas ou comentários políticos, enquanto a experiência subjetiva, corporal e emocional permanece invisível. O projeto From Linearity to Multiplicity surge como uma resposta à necessidade de restaurar a visibilidade e a sensibilidade face a estas experiências. Baseado em entrevistas profundas com mulheres russófonas que migraram para-Portugal após 2022, o projeto assume a forma visual-editorial de um zine, no qual cada história é apresentada como uma declaração única, ancorada no corpo e nas emoções. Através de ilustrações, metáforas corporais e materiais sobrepostos do zine (incluindo papel vegetal, cor e citações), o projeto procura não apenas fixar a memória, mas também despertar empatia, atenção e respeito pelas estratégias quotidianas de sobrevivência e reconstrução. Assim, o projeto propõe uma linguagem visual alternativa, capaz de comunicar trajetórias migratórias múltiplas, fragmentadas e não lineares, dando voz a quem foi marginalizado pelos discursos oficiais.por
