| dc.description.abstract | Este trabalho tem como objetivo perceber qual será a capacidade operacional do Sistema de Armas F-16 após 2020 e de que forma esta plataforma poderá continuar a participar na defesa coletiva e segurança cooperativa na OTAN, mantendo a credibilidade do País no seio desta Instituição. Neste seguimento, foram analisadas as necessidades em termos de aeronaves para assumir os compromissos com a OTAN após 2020, assim como, qual o investimento a mais do que aquele que está previsto é necessário e que tipos de parcerias poderão contribuir nas futuras evoluções. Conclui-se que será necessário manter às trinta aeronaves assim como realizar investimentos na ordem das centenas de milhares de euros em recursos materiais e que a atual parceria EPAF, embora em moldes diferentes, se irá manter até 2030. Conclui-se também na imperativa necessidade em afetar recursos humanos a fim de se garantir uma continuidade na passagem de conhecimento e de experiência. Caso não sejam efetuados os investimentos necessários e garantida a interoperabilidade com os novos Sistemas de Armas, como é o caso do F-35, no futuro, o F-16 ficará mais limitado quanto aos cenários em que poderá ser empregue e a participação em missões OTAN poderá vir a ser reduzida. Abstract: This investigation project aim to understand the operational capability of the F-16 Weapons System after 2020 and how this platform can continue to participate in collective defense and cooperative security in NATO, maintaining the credibility of the country within this Institution. Concerning that, there were analyzed the needs about aircrafts to fulfill the compromises with NATO after 2020, as well the increment of investment from the one that is already assign and the types of partnerships that could concur to further evolutions. It is concluded that it will be necessary to maintain the thirty aircrafts as well as invest in the order of hundreds of thousands of euros in material resources and that the current EPAF partnership, although in different forms, will be maintained until 2030. It is also concluded in the imperative need to affect human resources in order to guarantee continuity in the knowledge and experience follow-up. If the necessary investments are no made and interoperability with the new Weapons System guaranteed, such as the F-35, the future of F-16 will be more limited in the scenarios in which it may be employed and participation in NATO missions may come to be reduced. | pt_PT |
