Abstract(s)
Adaptation is the theme of this research report, which aims to understand the process of adaptation through which children go through day care and kindergarten contexts. This research project also seeks to deepen the role of education professionals during this process, namely the cooperating educators with whom I had the privilege of sharing internships within the scope of the Childhood Internship I, II and III curricular units. It aims to understand the role of parents, the school environment that surrounds the child and to understand what means to be used to alleviate the feeling of anguish of children when they first enter a pedagogical institution, and how we can help parents in this separation that can sometimes be painful. The methodology adopted for this study was the qualitative research, in an action research approach, based on the interpretative paradigm of actions. With regard to data collection, I gave preference to participant observation, document analysis, field notes, photographic support, records of formal and informal conversations with the cooperating educators, as well as interviews with the children and their educators. This study allowed me to understand the importance of the process of adaptation in the lives of children and the fundamental role of early childhood educators during this process, consolidating the knowledge acquired during my training, during the internship moments and in the classes that took place. under the Master in Preschool Education.
