Abstract(s)
Among the multiple factors that influence the quality of early childhood educational experiences, classroom space organization was selected as the central focus of this study. The classroom environment plays a pivotal role in children's lives, representing more than just a physical location-it is a key structural component of the educational setting that directly impacts children's well-being, social interactions, autonomy, and learning processes. The interest in this topic emerged from the observation of a kindergarten classroom that had remained unchanged over several years and across different groups of children, revealing structural and pedagogical weaknesses. The primary aim of this study was to transform the space by addressing its shortcomings through participatory methodologies that position children at the heart of interactions. The Mosaic Approach was essential to the development of this project, enabling the continuous involvement of children. Active child participation, along with ongoing dialogue with the cooperating educator, educational support staff, and the children themselves, were fundamental components of the proposal's development. Over the course of several weeks, data were collected on children's perspectives, behaviors, and wellbeing in relation to the classroom environment. The analysis of these data underscored the importance of recognizing the child as a unique and competent individual and highlighted the critical role the learning environment plays in their development
