Abstract(s)
Este estudo tem como objetivo investigar a apetência das crianças da Educação Pré-escolar para a aprendizagem da História de Portugal bem como fomentar o interesse pela história de Portugal. O estudo reflete o desenvolvimento da consciência histórica em crianças em idade pré-escolar, incluindo compreensão do tempo, a noção de mudança e continuidade, a identificação de eventos históricos e a relação entre o passado e o presente, incutindo sempre às crianças a sua identidade cultural. O projeto foi realizado em colaboração com um grupo de crianças entre os 4 e os 6 anos de idade em um colégio privado em Lisboa, e envolveu atividades dinâmicas e o uso de livros como recursos pedagógicos com o objetivo de modo a valorizar a sua pertença social e cultural. Através dessa intervenção, procurou-se compreender o interesse das crianças pela história de Portugal e explorar o potencial de atividades lúdicas e leitura na compreensão desse tema. O estudo conclui que a aprendizagem da história de Portugal no pré-escolar pode desempenhar um papel fundamental no desenvolvimento de uma consciência histórica significativa, contribuindo para fortalecer a identidade cultural das crianças, ajudando-as a compreender, valorizar a sua herança, as suas raízes, cultivando o orgulho e o respeito pela sua cultura.
This study aims to research the interest of preschool children in learning Portuguese history and to promote their interest in the history of Portugal. It reflects the development of historical awareness in this age group, including their understanding of time, the concept of change and continuity, the identification of historical events, and the relationship between past and present, whilst also seeking to instill a sense of cultural identity. The project was conducted in collaboration with a group of children aged 4 to 6 years old, at a private school in Lisbon. It involved dynamic activities and the use of books as educational resources in valuing their social and cultural belonging. Through this intervention, the researchers sought to understand these children's interest in Portuguese history, and explore the potential of introducing playful activities and reading in their understanding of the topic. The project concludes that teaching the History of Portugal in preschool can play a fundamental role in developing meaningful historical awareness, which contributes to strengthening children’s cultural identity. It also helps them understand and value their heritage and roots, which subsequently fosters pride and respect for the culture.
