dc.description.abstractA delinquência juvenil é um fenómeno social complexo que resulta de falhas em diversos aparelhos sociais e que tem marcado a atualidade nacional e internacional nos últimos anos. A idade dos seus intervenientes e as consequências que este fenómeno traz para o desenvolvimento dos jovens requerem uma intervenção precoce por parte das entidades responsáveis pelo enfrentamento deste problema. Para além disso, a delinquência juvenil afeta o sentimento de (in)segurança da população, sendo fulcral que instituições como a Polícia de Segurança Pública possam intervir na sua prevenção. O número de ocorrências continua a ser elevado, sendo crescente o nível de violência empregue, devendo a PSP encontrar novos instrumentos e estratégias preventivas. Neste processo os Comandantes de Esquadra necessitam de ter um conhecimento aprofundado da criminalidade juvenil na sua área de competência, para que possam dessa forma intervir de forma mais eficiente e eficaz sobre este fenómeno. Em traços gerais, no desenrolar deste trabalho científico realizou-se um estudo de caso, de caráter quantitativo, no sentido de explorar e caracterizar em profundidade a criminalidade juvenil na área de competência territorial da 73ª Esquadra (Pontinha), com o fim de perceber de que forma pode o Comandante de Esquadra melhorar o conhecimento que tem da delinquência juvenil na sua área de responsabilidade a fim de atuar preventivamente sobre este fenómeno e gerir da melhor forma os recursos que tem à sua disposição.pt_PT
dc.description.abstractJuvenile delinquency is a complex social phenomenon that is the result of failures in various social apparatuses and which has marked national and international news in recent years. The age of those involved and the consequences this phenomenon has for young people's development require early intervention by the bodies responsible for tackling this problem. In addition, juvenile delinquency affects the population's sense of (in)security, and it is crucial that institutions such as the Public Security Police can intervene to prevent it. The number of incidents continues to be high, and the level of violence used is increasing, so the PSP must find new preventive tools and strategies. In this process, police station commanders need to have in-depth knowledge of juvenile crime in their area of responsibility, so that they can intervene more efficiently and effectively in this phenomenon. In general terms, this scientific work involved a quantitative case study to explore and characterize in depth juvenile crime in the 73rd Police Station (Pontinha), in order to understand how the Police Station Commander can improve his knowledge of juvenile delinquency in his area of responsibility so that he can act preventively against this phenomenon and manage the resources at his disposal in the best possible way.pt_PT
