Abstract(s)
O presente relatório pretendeu refletir e demonstrar o percurso realizado durante o período de estágio efetuado em Bloco Operatório. O mesmo espelha os objetivos gerais e específicos delineados, bem com as atividades/estratégias realizadas para os alcançar. Aliado ao estágio e ao presente documento, foi realizado um trabalho de investigação com a temática prevenção da hipotermia perioperatória inadvertida. A presente temática resultou de uma oportunidade de melhoria identificada no local de estágio, sendo de extremo interesse quer na área da prevenção e controlo de infeção, como na área da segurança e conforto da pessoa.
Com foco nas intervenções do enfermeiro especialista, foi realizada uma revisão scoping com o objetivo de mapear as intervenções que podem ser utilizadas pelo enfermeiro especialista na prevenção da hipotermia perioperatória inadvertida.
A hipotermia perioperatória inadvertida é assim um fenómeno conhecido e documentado nas diretrizes internacionais dedicadas à sua prevenção. Apesar de não se tratar de uma preocupação nova, a sua incidência continua elevada nas instituições de saúde e a adesão às boas práticas para a sua prevenção apresentam diversas lacunas.
Os mecanismos fisiopatológicos envolvidos nesta condição aumentam a probabilidade de morbilidade e mortalidade, podendo originar diversas complicações. A sua prevenção deve por isso, ser uma responsabilidade partilhada por toda a equipa de saúde envolvida na intervenção cirúrgica. A intervenção do enfermeiro especialista na prevenção da hipotermia perioperatória inadvertida assume extrema importância na divulgação da evidência científica, na sensibilização, formação à equipa sobre as melhores práticas para prevenir este fenómeno. A elaboração de protocolos clínicos sustentados na mais recente evidência científica e que orientem a prática de enfermagem e consequentemente a tomada de decisão, são fundamentais.
O percurso realizado foi fundamental para aquisição de competências quer comuns quer especificas do enfermeiro especialista na área perioperatória.
The purpose of this report is to reflect on and demonstrate the course taken during my internship in the operating room. It reflects the general and specific objectives outlined, as well as the activities/strategies carried out to achieve them. Allied to the internship and this document, research was carried out on the subject of preventing perioperative inadvertent hypothermia. This topic was the result of an opportunity for improvement identified at the internship site, and is of extreme interest both in the area of infection prevention and control and in the area of patient safety and comfort. With a focus on specialist nurse interventions, a scoping review was carried out with the aim of mapping the interventions that can be used by specialist nurses to prevent perioperative inadvertent hypothermia. Inadvertent perioperative hypothermia is a well-known phenomenon and has been documented in international guidelines dedicated to its prevention. Although it is not a new concern, its incidence remains high in healthcare institutions and there are several gaps in adherence to good practices for its prevention. The pathophysiological mechanisms involved in this condition increase the likelihood of morbidity and mortality and can lead to various complications. Its prevention must therefore be a responsibility shared by the entire healthcare team involved in the surgical intervention. The intervention of the specialist nurse in the prevention of perioperative inadvertent hypothermia is extremely important in terms of disseminating scientific evidence, raising awareness and training the team on the best practices to prevent this phenomenon. The development of clinical protocols based on the latest scientific evidence and which guide nursing practice and, consequently, decision-making, are fundamental. The course taken was fundamental to the acquisition of both common and specific skills for nurses specializing in the perioperative area.
