No decurso do processo de digitalização do cinema e, portanto, de uma outra etapa de transformação tecnológica deste medium, novas possibilidades de criação cinemática têm sido esboçadas. Estas possibilidades não nascem desvinculadas de um passado complexo e diversificado e são mesmo, na maioria dos casos, resultado da confluência de ideias, tradições e experiências antes parcamente exploradas, marginalizadas ou obliteradas. Um dos exemplos aqui integrado é o Cinema ao Vivo. O presente artigo procura compreender os modos de expressão deste cinema, assim como as práticas, os dispositivos e as
ferramentas colocadas ao seu serviço. Uma ilustração é proposta mediante a apresentação das criações de The Light Surgeons, um coletivo de artistas e cineastas sediado no Reino Unido, que detém um complexo e diversificado corpo de trabalho enquadrável nesta modalidade.
In the course of the digitalization process of cinema and, therefore, of another stage of technological transformation of this medium, new possibilities for cinematic creation have been outlined. These possibilities are defined out of a complex and diversified past and are, in most cases, the result of the confluence of ideas, traditions and experiences that were previously poorly explored, marginalized or obliterated. One of the examples included here is Live Cinema. This article seeks to understand the modes of expression of that cinema, as well as the practices, devices and tools put at its service, through the work of The Light Surgeons, a collective of artists and filmmakers based in the United Kingdom, which presents a complex and diversified body of work that fits into this modality.
