Cinquenta e nove estudos
integraram a revisão.
foi organizada em quatro categorias: “alimentação com leite de fórmula e leite humano”;
This report, carried out within the scope of the Master's Course in Child and Paediatric Health Nursing, at the Escola Superior de Enfermagem do Porto, refers to the professional internship with report – Module II, to obtain the title of master and specialist in this area. It aims to describe, in a critical and reflective way, the activities developed in clinical setting and to what extent they contributed to the development of common and specific competencies of the Specialist Nurse in Child and Paediatric Health. In this way, are present three case studies and described experiences that were influenced by the critical thinking based on current evidence. Additionally, are exposed the activities resulting from the implementation of the specialized clinical skills development project, under the theme “Nutritional intake in the first year of life: promotion of the developmental parental role”, which were supported by an umbrella review on the theme. This review aimed to identify the available evidence on concepts related to the nutritional intake of non-breastfed newborns and infants, present in the syntheses of previous research. The search was carried out in four databases, using a developed search strategy. The instruments available by JBI-SUMARI were used for the data extraction and to assess the quality of the studies. Fifty-nine studies met the inclusion criteria. Given the heterogeneity in the results, the synthesis of evidence was organized into four categories: “formula and human milk feeding”; “complementary feeding”; “nutritional intake and physical development”; and “developmental parental role: nutritional intake”. The results of this research supported the development of specialized clinical skills in child and paediatric health, specifically the provision of differentiated care in response to the normative child development needs and assistance to the child, in partnership with the family, in maximizing their health. The research study supporting project implementation revealed that nurses can play an active and positive role in promoting child development during the first year of life and facilitating the parental adaptive process, particularly through the implementation of nursing therapeutics, such as information therapy. The representation of the knowledge obtained may contribute to evidence-based content related to this theme, on the Enhancing Expertise & Empowering by Education for Citizens platform and on Nursing Ontology, developed by the Escola Superior de Enfermagem do Porto.
